Google’s new operating system, Android 13, will be released in May, during an event in California. Check out everything we already know about the news
The new Android 13 is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Under the codename “Tiramisu”, Google’s new operating system will be officially unveiled on May 11th. But, since its test versions and some leaks, there are several projections about the novelty.
The new system will be unveiled at Google I/O 2022 on stage at the Shoreline Amphitheater in California. The event, which will last two days, will be virtually open to the public, with the possibility of asking questions about Android 13.
Trial versions were only open to developers, with so-called “Developer Previews”. Android 13 has not even entered the beta phase, when it will be available to all users on compatible devices.
But what has been seen so far already points to the direction that the system should take when it reaches the general public. Check out the main news that should be in Android 13 .
End of SIM card?
But what would that impact? A user may have phone numbers for multiple companies on a single handset. This way, you can switch connections much more conveniently.
Warning for excessive battery usage
Android 13 will also have a new warning about excessive battery usage. The new system will warn the user when an app that is not currently being actively used continues to consume a lot of battery. Android 13 will warn you when the app uses too much battery in a 24-hour period.
Android 13 will have news in Material You
Android 13 will still be able to have themed icons, making the colors that make up the shortcuts adapted to those that predominate in the wallpaper.
NFC payments for more than one user
Android already allows more than one user per device. Some settings, however, are restricted to the main. This is the case, for example, of NFC technology, which allows wireless payment through the smartphone. Today, only the account holder can make payments through the system. With Android 13, however, other users will also be able to access it.
Advance in media player
Android 13 will also have cosmetic changes to its media player. In the previews released so far, you can already see a different tool. Now, in addition to changes to buttons and icons, the player will also be illustrated by the album cover or the clip being played by the user.
Privacy and security settings
In addition, application access to the device’s photos will be more controlled. Contrary to what happens today, when the system gives full access to images, the user will be able to choose which of them can be used by a given app. The change gives much more privacy and protects against certain intrusions.
Approximate music transfer
The new Android 13 will also have advances in music and data sharing. From the new operating system, it will be possible to send songs to a friend just by bringing the devices together.
Wi-Fi no location access
With Android 13, the user will no longer need to grant location access when connecting to other devices via Wi-Fi. In previous versions, Google always received user data over connections of the type over a public network. Starting with the new system, you will no longer need to say where you are.
New language preferences
The new Android 13 will have a new mechanism that will allow you to choose the language of each application individually. The system is being called “Panlingual”. So the language selection will no longer be general across the phone. That is, you can adopt Portuguese as your main language, but choose English for any app you want.
photo customization
Android 13 also promises a function that should be popular with the public. With the new system, it will be possible for users who share the same device to be represented by different colors. That is, you will be able to choose the color that will surround the avatar ID photo of each of them.
